Tough Girl

I was trying to get things done at the computer, and Tailynne was playing on the floor. She was playing at our movie shelfs and she found my weights. I turned around to see her lifting it up and putting it back down. I couldn't resist this picture because I thought it was so cute.
Not much has changed in our family. Thom is still appling for jobs. Hopefully he will get one soon. Tailynne is getting brave. She can now walk around furniture really well. She can even go from one piece to another. She is also getting better at standing on her own. She doesn't crawl yet but she does do a really funny scoot. It makes me laugh every time I see her do it. She is also getting really fast. If she wants to be somewhere she gets there. I am about the same. Just staying home. I am currently on an ebay kick. I bought a new toy, a cricket expression, and love playing with it.
I am also happy to update our water situation. We are now "Green." Which means we can use it for anything however I can still taste the chlorine. Yuck, it is still bottled water for me for a while. But I am grateful to be able to use the water again.

Card Making

The other day I came across a blog with a card making challenge. I love making cards, though I am not very good at it. The only way I can improve is just to keep making cards. So here is my dot card for this weeks challenge. Sorry the picture is blurry.

Movies

Today Tailynne has been going all over our house. Usually she stays pretty much where we put her. Not today. She has been in the kitchen 4 times and to our movie shelf 3 times. Not only did she go to the movie shelf, she pulled off every movie on the bottom two shelves. It was pretty funny to watch. She would pull it off, look at it, then go for another. Once they were all off she got sad and was done with the movies. I am glad she is starting to get around better.

Easter

Seeing that it is a week after Easter I decided I better post a few pictures. We had an Easter egg hunt on Saturday with other kids from our apartment. Tailynne loved the Easter egg. It was her favorite toy all day long. On Easter we spent the day with my brother. We had a barbeque. It was a lot of fun celebrating Easter together as a family.

Water Mess

The city of Alamosa is on a water restriction. They have had a salmonella out break and the water is the only common factor they have found so far. So we are on bottled water restrictions. We can boil water for dishes. They are going to start flushing out our water on Tuesday. So there will be all kinds of nasty chemicals in the water. I decided to plan ahead and boil some extra water for sponge baths and dishes. So we filled an 18 gallon rubbermaid tub of boiled water. Now we will just have to warm it as needed. Hopefully we can make it last until the water is all clean. We will just have to use it wisely because the water restriction could be on for two weeks.

Spring Break

This year was Tailynne's first spring break!! We were able to visit Laci's mom and Thom's parents in the same trip since Laci's parents have now moved to Golden. We left Monday morning and stayed Monday night with Laci's mom. Tailynne had her first "getting lost with Nanny" trip as we searched for a place to eat on Monday evening, followed by her first visit to a Village Inn.

On Tuesday morning we headed to Loveland to visit Thom's parents. On Tuesday evening we had a family get-together with the Quist sons and their families. It was great to be able to catch up with family, and it was fun for Tai to see her cousins. Wednesday was "shop 'til you drop" day with Grandma and Grandpa Quist. We went to Men's Wear House to get a suit for Thom as his parents' graduation present to him (Thank you very much mom and dad! The 3 piece brown suit looks and fits great!). We also shopped at Plato's Closet and TJMaxx for Laci's birthday present from Thom's parents (Thank you very much for the great shirts! They are wonderful!). We stopped by Moroni Book, where we bought Tai a book called "My First Story of the First Easter." Later that night we made a Hobby Lobby run (like I said, it was "shop 'til you drop" day).

Thursday we headed back to Golden to spend some more time with Laci's mom. Micah and her family were there also and for some reason we decided to make another "shop 'til you drop" trip to the Colorado Mills mall. That mall is enormous! We had a great time. The trip included Tai's first time on a carousel, which she enjoyed for the second half. She would wave at dad and everyone else we passed. It took us about 2 1/2 hours to make it around the entire mall, stopping at a few stores along the way. As fun as it was, we were all relieved when we made it around. That evening we ate at IHOP so Thom could try the "Green Eggs and Ham" special promoting the movie, "Horton Hears a Who."

Friday morning we watched Micah's kids so Micah and Randy could attend a lunch meeting. For a snack after lunch, we gave all the kids (including Tai) Strawberries. It was Tai's first time eating Strawberries, and she loved it!

The trip home on Friday afternoon provided another first for Tai: her first traffic jam! She was not very pleased with the stop-and-go for 40 minutes over a strip of road that normally takes us about 15 minutes at the most. Thom cursed the drive by making the comment that morning that "Pueblo traffic is never bad." We arrived home around 8:30 Friday night, and Tai was thrilled to be out of her car seat, and in her own home again. She was grinning and giggling for at least half an hour.

All in all, we had a great Spring Break! Thanks to everyone that provided us with lodging, food, and entertainment!

Daddy's Little Girl

Tailynne got this hat for Thom for Christmas. She loves it too. Isn't she so cute. The other picture is of her looking up at her Dad. She is Daddy's little girl.
