Stinky Situation

Last night at about 11:30ish Laci woke me up because she smelled something potentially hazardous. To me it smelled like a mix between an over-heating car and a very potent paint (I don't know, maybe I just thought of that because it was so late). Anyway, we went out into the living room to investigate, and the smell was about 100 times worse there! After inspecting the kitchen and living room, we discovered the problem. We had started the dish washer before going to bed (we have the kind that hooks up to the sink if anyone didn't know) and underneath the bottom rack of the dishwasher we discovered that our bread knife had somehow slipped through the cracks and the handle melted on the metal ring thingy that heats the dishwasher up (you like my terminology? I don't know how else to describe it). It took us an hour or so to remove the stench of melted plastic from the apartment. The knife is now permanently fused to the bottom of the dishwasher, thus, the dishwasher is now useless, except for the fact that it provides a little extra counter space. Doesn't that sound like a fun night?

Happy and Healthy

Well we have had a week plus at home due to sickness. Poor Tailynne was sick for seven days. So we have not had a lot happen this past week but I am happy to report that our family is happy and healthy again and excited to get out of the house and have some fun.

Snow Day!!!

Today Thom got a call saying that school was cancelled due to snow. Yeah! We got about 6 inches or so. So first we had to get our work done. Thom went to Rustic to watch Tailynne as Laci did her work. Then we went home to play. Below are our pictures of how to make a snow man. This was Tailynne's first snow man. We couldn't stay out long so it was really small, but we hope you enjoy.

Q Look-alike Meter

MyHeritage: Look-alike Meter - Family tree diagram - Pedigree

We had a fondue party at our neighbors house. Tailynne had a good time.

Welcome!

Welcome to our blog page! This is our first time doing a page like this. We'll try to keep it up to date, but be patient with us as we learn how to use the page.

We are doing well, anxious to be finnished with school here at Adams State. This semester, Thom is doing his student teaching. He was assigned to Monte Vista Middle School, and is enjoying teaching middle school more than he thought he would. Laci continues to work for her sister, Micah, as a part-time bookkeeper for Rustic Log Furniture, and as a nanny for Micah's 3 children, Angie, Ben, and Caden. Tailynne is learning and growing every day. Her resumee now includes folding her arms, waving, bobbing her head, clapping, as well as making the sounds a, b, d, e, r, and sometimes y.
Thom is still teaching the 12-13 year-old sunday school class; he has 2 regular students. Laci was recently called to be the "Teachings For Our Times" teacher for the Relief Society. Thom and Laci both participate in the ward choir.
We'll try to post some pictures soon so you can see how much we've grown (mostly Tai).
